Horned Frog Marching Band

• Short sight reading piece.
• Be prepared to play any of the 12 major scales on request.
• Auditions determine chair placement only. Everyone who auditions will be accepted into the Marching Band.

• 12 major scales + chromatic scale the full range of the instrument.
• Also, 4-5 minutes of prepared music (Solo, Wind Band/Orchestral Excerpts or Etudes) that includes both lyrical and technical passages will be required. This music will be mailed to you in the Summer Newsletter. Contact t.parker@tcu.edu for more information.

• Percussionists should be prepared to perform a piece on snare drum (concert or rudimental), mallets (marimba, xylophone, or vibes), and timpani. Sight reading in each of these three areas will be a part of the audition. Drum set performance is encouraged but not required.
